Board Vice President Cynthia West’s delightful children’s book Lily in the Box tells the true story of a dachshund abandoned on a roadside in Schoharie County but  rescued by Ms. West and her husband (and fellow Board member) Michael.  Lily’s happy ending makes for a heartwarming story, one which can help raise a young reader’s awareness of animals’ feelings and rights.   Ms. West and Lily have already made many appearances with their popular book at upstate New York book signings, school groups and clubs, and Shelter events. Share Lily’s story with the youngsters in your life while helping the Shelter in its ongoing efforts to promote responsible pet ownership.   Books are $18, and are available at ASSV events or through the link below. All profits from book sales help our shelter achieve its goals!
